Keeping busy

My shoulder still hurts a bit, but it itches more. So at least it's healing. Hey look.... no typos! heh Fingers still ache a bit but that's to be expected.

I am so pleased to see Lullaby and Trina getting along. Lullaby is making Trina a little doll. :)

I'm concerned about Lucas though, in light of Joel's... most recent post. I'd do whatever I could for Joel providing he could be subdued without harm to us or him, but I'm afraid for Lucas. There's a point where you have to... cut your emotional ties and look at a relationship objectively. It's a lesson I had to learn the hard way with my family. Suggesting Lucas needs to step back from his emotions might sound hypocritical of me after my little kamikaze attack on Prosper, but I barely walked away from that. And I got it out of my system, hopefully. It was an emotional release, nothing more. I couldn't hurt Victor, so I went after the next closest target.  I won't be that careless again.

I'd hate for Lucas to have to make the same mistake and maybe be hurt worse. He's already missing a finger.

Without Shady here, and with my shoulder still healing, work on the house has come to a standstill. I'm not going to draft Trina, Lucas, or Lullaby for the work, though I'm sure they'd be more than willing to help. They deserve to have fun while they can, and there's no urgency to have the second floor finished. It's enough that the first floor is finished and ready for the eventual snowy months. I suppose I could get Sunshine and Ecko to help out, but Sunshine has been disconsolate since Shady disappeared. I don't think I could get him to concentrate on the work, and then everything would fall on Ecko. I'm not going to do that to him.

I've been reading... trying to come up with more ways to ward the house. There has to be a workaround to cover the loophole Victor exploited. When I can't read any more and sleep is impossible, I weed and harvest herbs to dry and veggies and fruit to preserve.

Anything to keep busy.

  1. ... Give Lucas a hug for me? I wish I could be there to help.

  2. I will, and I think it helps having Trina and Lullaby around to distract him from his thoughts.

  3. Honestly, I'm fit for work if you would like. I... I think it would be a welcome distraction. Maybe something in the garden? At least it'd stop me moping around.

  4. Alright :) We'll go do some gardening after dinner. I want to tackle those rose bushes. The rose hips are full of vitamin C. They'll be great for tea in the winter and if we clip them, they may bloom again.
